The Roomba seems to get a popular hacking, demo and experimentation platform. Here you can see some basic stuff, that unleash fun-abilities. It reminds me on another Roomba-work about the "natural path" of the Roomba.

But... there is a significant pattern underneath, that you also mention indirectly: what defines a robot? Do they have rights (or wrongs)? Check "Roboethics" i.e on this blog, to dig deeper into that one.
